Meet the Staff

Jakki Garnham - Proprietor & Chief Instructor.  Jakki has been running Beechwood Riding School since 1972 and has been at the present location in Woldingham since 1986.  She began her career working in riding schools, studs and dealers’ yards and has, therefore, many years of experience.
Meghan Strong  – Stable Manager & Head Girl  Meghan has worked at Beechwood for 8 years now, having previously been a helper.   She has been riding for many years and also enjoys teaching the young Beechwood assistants how to muck out and lay the beds to her high standard.   Meghan has her NVQ Level 2 qualification.    Her favourite horse is Mozart.
   
Jenni Webber - Groom  Jenni has been riding for 4 years and has been working  at Beechwood as a groom for 2 years.  She has her BHS stage1 exam, together with ABRS tests 1,2 and 3.   Her favourite horse is Prncess 

Dawn Fazackerley - Instructor  Dawn was a constant helper and rider at Beechwood for many years.    She now competes regularly on her own horses.   She has her BHS AI qualification and returned to Beechwod to teach at weekends.
Luisa Montebello - Apprentice  Luisa is our latest apprentice.   She was a helper at Beechwood for 4 years and has just passed her ABRS tests 1,2 and 3.    She is a keen rider and has her own horse called Summer.  Her favourite Beechwood horse is Skye.


Lucy Beard - Apprentice  Lucy will be starting her apprenticeship at Beechwood in July. 
She presently does work experience every Friday and also helps at the stables on a Saturday.  Her favourite horse is 41 who she has on share/loan.  She has helped with his education and they both enjoy their hacks together.   They are looking forward to a summer of jumping and training by Jakki.




 
 
 

 		 Val Maag - Secretary  Val has been involved with Beechwood since 1980 when she moved to Tatsfield and started to ride with Jakki.   She is now Beechwood’s secretary but still enjoys ‘hands on’ with the horses and her favourite, among many, is Hobbit.






 

 		 Pam Pollington - Volunteer Groom  Pam started to ride with Jakki many years ago and is now a valuable member of the team on a Friday when she arrives full of enthusiasm to groom, sweep and generally tackle any tasks required.  Her favourite equine is  Tinkerbelle.
